ArchivesThe Amazing Race 13 debuts on CBS at the end of September, but at the beginning of the month, the Travel Channel will begin broadcasting season 12 of the show in prime-time on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
The cable network has also acquired the rights to season 13 and, if it’s produced, the 14th season. Previously, GSN rebroadcast the show starting in 2005, while the Fox Reality Channel is currently re-broadcasting the 11th and all-stars season, having started with the ninth season earlier this year.
In a statement, Travel Channel president Patrick Younge said the show “is simply the best travel reality format in the world” and “an iconic American television series that really taps into what exploration is all about — not only the incredible riches that the world has to offer travelers — but the incredible transformative powers that travel brings about in people.”
He neglects to mention that travel—and competition for $1 million—sometimes brings about incredibly asswipish powers in people, too.
